Nottinghamshire County Council is ahead of the Government when it comes to litter picking.

The Government has this week called for litter picking to be taught in schools, but the council is already working hard in schools teaching children the importance of reducing waste through its Schools Waste Action Club.

Environment Secretary Caroline Spelman said she was ‘appalled’ at the waste strewn on roadsides and said that children should be taken litter picking.
