Councillors ‘delighted’ about the return of play day

KIMBERLEY’S summer play day will return to the town this year after councillors spent three years lobbying Broxtowe Borough Council for funding.

Kimberley town councillors said they were ‘delighted’ to see the return of the summer play day, and they are now asking residents in the town for feedback regarding what events they would like, and where they would like them to be held.

Cllr Mel Crow said: “I am absolutely delighted that three years of lobbying Broxtowe Borough Council to secure the return of this event to Kimberley has paid off.

“I hope the children and parents who live locally will be delighted too. It is great that Broxtowe is allocating a fair share of its budget for these events to Kimberley this year and I am hopeful that we will see more of these events in the future.”

Kimberley Town Council will part-fund the event.

If any residents have thoughts regarding venue or activities then they are asked to contact Kimberley Town Council on 0115 938 2733 or email
