County takes control of highways work

Nottinghamshire County Council is taking control of highways work off borough and district councils to save money.

Highways director Andy Warrington said: “We are currently going through the process of moving some of the highways work our district and borough council partners do for us, back to the management of the county council.”

The highways service will be carried out from three depots in Kimberley, Bilsthorpe and Ashfield.

Some staff will have to re-locate under the plans.
