Crime in Eastwood down on last year

The number of crimes in Eastwood throughout August was slightly down on the same time last year, with only 84 crimes across the area compared to 92 last year.

Police figures for Eastwood South revealed that the greatest change had been in anti-social behaviour with only 21 reports filed last month, half the number of 45 complaints in August last year.

However, although the number of vehicle crime was down, the number of incidents of violence with injury.

The police also reported their success with speed traps on Church Street which had caught several speeding drivers and two people travelling without their seatbelts fastened.
