Masked men threatened staff with kitchen knife while robbing shop in Kimberley
Two masked and hooded men threatened shop staff with a kitchen knife and a baseball bat as they robbed a shop in Kimberley.
Police were called to Gilthill Store, Eastwood Road, Kimberley, shortly after 7.45pm on Sunday after the robbers targeted a female cashier.
After stealing cash and cigarettes the men fled the scene and ran up Truman Street and onto Lawn Mill Road.
Detectives investigating the incident are keen to speak with anyone who may have witnessed what happened, or seen two men acting suspiciously in the area at around the time of the incident.
DC Bethany Sumner, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Luckily nobody was seriously hurt during this incident but it was undoubtedly a shocking and deeply upsetting experience for the victims.
“Nottinghamshire Police takes robbery offences very seriously and will devote whatever resources re necessary into tracking down offenders and bringing them to justice.
"We’d particularly like to speak to anybody who may have seen two men on Truman Street or Lawn Mill Road shortly after this incident.”
