Police officers have been deployed at schools across Eastwood and Kimberley over the last couple of weeks following a string of incidents where drivers have asked young girls to get in their cars.
The inspector for south Nottinghamshire, Craig Berry, arranged for his officers to be at the school gates in the mornings and at home time after several girls were targeted in the Carlton and Bulwell areas.
“Nothing has happened around here, but it’s not a million miles away,” he said.
Two incidents have happened in Carlton and one in Bulwell at the beginning of last week.
On each occasion, the suspect has been described as a black man aged between 30-40, and there has been a report of a dark-coloured car.
