A teenage boy who died after being involved in a tragic road accident in Hucknall earlier this week has been named.
The 16-year-old, named locally as Joe Cannon or ‘Cheek’, died yesterday (31 July) after being in hospital for two days following a collision between his off-road motorcyle and a van.
Joe suffered with serious head injuries after his Honda Trial bike hit a Ford Transit van at the junction between Shaw Crescent and Robin Hood Drive on Wednesday (29 July).
A spokesman for Nottinghamshire Police said that detectives from the East Midlands Serious Collision Investigation Unit are continuing their work to try and understand what happened.
The collision took place around 1.15pm and police are asking any witnesses to come forward by calling 101 and quoting incident 360 of 29 July 2015.
