Three arrested after reports of man hit with baseball bat during Kimberley street fight
Police have arrested three men after responding to reports of a man allegedly being punched and hit with a baseball bat during a street fight in Kimberley.
Officers were called to the disturbance in Main Street shortly before 2am on Monday, May 31.
A number of people were injured, suffering head and facial injuries which needed medical treatment.
Police quickly arrived and made three arrests and an investigation to establish the full circumstances of the incident is ongoing.
A 20-year-old was arrested on suspicion of affray and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.
Another 20-year-old was detained on suspicion of affray and common assault and a third suspect, of the same age, was arrested on suspicion of affray.
All three remain in custody.
Detective sergeant Matt Scott, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Our enquiries are ongoing, including trawling through CCTV footage, to understand what triggered this violence.
“While we have already made three arrests, our investigation is still in its early stages so we’d urge anyone who has any information about what happened, and who hasn’t already come forward, to please get in touch with us.
"There were lots of people around in the area at the time.
