Proposals to change the way day care centres for the elderly are run across the county were approved at a meeting last week.
Nottinghamshire County Council proposals to close down ten of its 23 day care centres for the elderly were given the go-ahead in a cabinet meeting on June 30.
The council will now invest £4m in the remaining 13 services, which will be made multi-user including the disabled and those with learning disabilities.
As part of the move, Eastwood folk will have to travel Chilwell and Selston people will go to Sutton-in-Ashfield.
Council bosses pledged to cover any additional transport costs incurred by residents as a result of the decision.
