CCTV images of a man who is believed to have witnessed a shop robbery in Eastwood have been issued by police.

The man is thought to have seen three men enter the Tesco Express store in Nottingham Road at around 10.30pm on Friday April 11.

They threatened staff with a knife and stole money and cigarettes. No-one was injured.

Six people – five men aged between 22 and 30 and a 15-year-old boy - have so far been arrested and bailed pending further enquiries.

The witness spoke to security staff after the offenders had left the store. He is seen on CCTV to be wearing a distinctive blue and white stripey t-shirt, and dark trousers, but has yet to speak to the police.

A police spokesperson said: “We have blurred out the face of the witness to ensure that their identity is not widely known, however we would urge you to look at the clothing he is wearing and if you recognise yourself, your brother or son, please contact us.

“The man in this image could have vital information that could help us solve this crime.”

Anyone with any information or who knows who the witness is is asked to contact Nottinghamshire Police on 101 or Crimestoppers 0800 555111.
