Police are offering crime prevention advice after sat navs were stolen from cars in Kimberley and Nuthall.

After a recent spate of sat nav thefts from Audis and Volkswagon cars, the Nuthall beat team looked in to what could be done.

The cops are suggesting if drivers have a factory fitted sat nav stolen they should contac the VW Group police liaison officer.

The liaison officer can block the unit so if the vehicle is taken in for any work it will flag up as stolen.

If drivers have a new unit stolen, they should register is on, so the owner can be identified if it is stolen. Drivers can also assign the serial number to the VIN of the vehicle.
