THE PRINCIPAL of Derby College has announced he will retire this summer after 17 years in the job.
David Croll, awarded an OBE last year, oversaw the college’s merger with South East Derbyshire in Ilkeston and Heanor in 2010.
Last month he announced plans to move the Ilkeston campus into the town centre, and develop the site in Field Road into a supermarket and homes complex.
He has also put in place plans to build 53 homes on the former Cavendish Road site in Ilkeston.
Mr Croll, 59, said: “The last 17 years have been a fantastic journey which I have been honoured to share with so many outstanding individuals.”
