Environmental campaigners are holding a meeting in Mansfield to inform residents about the controversial issue of fracking.
The briefing session has been organised following the submission of a planning application to explore for shale gas in the far north of Nottinghamshire.
Environmental economist Brian Davey, from Frack Free Nottinghamshire and Misson Community Action Group - which is fighting the proposals - will be speaking at the event.
Organiser Paul Frost said: “With our water supplies, the Sherwood Forest tourist industry, quality of life and health all at risk, we need to make sure people are fully informed of the dangers and that our representatives know what they are facing.”
The meeting is at 7.30pm at St Peter’s Centre, Churchside, Mansfield on Wednesday, November 25.
