Expert advice offered to Broxtowe’s local artists

Local artists in Broxtowe are offered expert advice on a range of topics including how to get funding and getting involved with local events at a special networking meeting.

As part of the borough council’s popular Take Part Art programme, guest speaker Elizabeth Hawley from East Midlands Visual Arts Network (EMVAN) will host the event on Thursday, March 12 at The White Lion Bar and Kitchen, Middle Street, Beeston between 7pm and 9pm. The event will offer a unique opportunity for local artists and groups to get together, discuss their work and get information and advice on funding.

There will also be an opportunity to showcase up to three images of individual work on the night by sending images in advance to the Arts team via Wetransfer. Artists can also promote themselves by bringing flyers/cards to leave on our networking table.

Take Part Art is organised by Broxtowe Borough Council’s Arts and Events team and has been running for several years to support local artists within the Borough. This year’s event has been organised in partnership with Attenborough Nature Centre.

Anyone looking to get creative can take advantage of workshops, exhibitions and drop-in activities before Saturday, March 28 with a diverse programme of events giving local residents of all ages and abilities the opportunity to learn new creative skills.
