AN Ilkeston family have welcomed a new addition to the clan.
The birth of Jace Lee Jeffrey on Saturday April 20, means there are now five generations of the same family alive and kicking. Jace will no doubt be spoiled rotten by parents Thomas Jefferey and Ellie Thompson, along with his grandparents, great grandparents and great-great grandparents June and George Chapman.
George, 82, and June, 79, of Peveril Drive grew up three doors away from each other and have one daughter, Margaret, who is 54 and great grandmother to Jace. Her daughter Helen, 37 is Jace’s grandmother, and mum to Thomas, 19.
Out picture shows each generation of the family.
Most of the family are still living in Ilkeston, with Margaret living in Wessington with husband Rob.
Jace was born at Nottingham City Hospital and weighed in at 7lbs 4.
George and June are set to celebrate their diamond wedding anniversary next year. George, who worked as a porter at Ilkeston Hospital for 20 years, said: “We are going to have a massive party up to celebrate.”
Daughter Margaret said: “It’s nice for mum and dad to have lots of babies around, it keeps them young.”
