Rumours that an Eastwood GP surgery is to close could not be confirmed or denied by the NHS this week, leaving dozens of patients concerned.
Staff at Eastwood Health Clinic in Nottingham Road were also unable to say whether the clinic was facing closure.
But one worried resident said she feared that no consultation is planned to take place with patients or staff about the potential closure.
“Nobody is consulting with us about anything,” she said.
“The Government says to consult with the community and they’re not.”
It is rumoured that the clinic could close its doors in October – just three months away.
“I think it’s just wrong,” she added.
“We are losing more and more services and no one is interested in public opinion.
“First the ambulance station is closing down now this.”
When the Advertiser approached NHS Nottinghamshire County – the authority responsible for doctors’ surgeries in the county – a spokesman said things were at too early a stage to comment but admitted they were reviewing services at the surgery and where they could be provided in the future.
But she said there would be full consultation with staff and patients before any major decision like this was considered.
She said: “We are currently looking at services provided at Eastwood Clinic. We will be working with our partners, staff, patients and the public over the coming months to understand where services will be provided in the future.”
