A WOMAN from Langley Mill has reached the final eight contenders in a beauty pageant.
Brogan Beardsley, 19, entered the Miss Nottingham competition, which was held on Sunday, May 29, at Notts County Football Club.
Her mum Julie Storer said, although Brogan did not win, she had done really well. She said: “I’m very, very proud! It was quite nerve-racking. She couldn’t smile. Her lip was trembling because she was so nervous!”
Brogan discovered the competition while browsing on the internet.
“I was really shocked to get as far as I did. All the other girls had much more experience. I was the only one in the final eight who hadn’t been in a competition before.”
Brogan is currently on a gap-year after studying at Aldercar sixth form college, and works as a sales assistant at Giltbrook Retail Park.
She is aiming for a career in the police force.
