Fire service urges more feedback

Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service is urging local people to take part in consultation on proposed changes to its services, as the closing date for comments draws near.

Consultation runs until Sunday 23 October, and more than 450 questionnaires have been returned since it was launched at the beginning of August.

Eastwood fire station was originally earmarked for closure under the plans, but as we revealed two months ago fire chiefs decided to save it from the chop under these new proposals.

A final decision is expected to be made by the Fire Authority at its meeting on 16 December.
