THE Eastwood Poppy Appeal will be launched at the Priory Roman Catholic School next Monday, October 31.

The school has been chosen for the launch because it raised the most money in last year’s Poppy Appeal.

The town’s Poppy Appeal organiser, John Restorick, will be at the school at 9am, where he will sell the first poppy.

The Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Nottinghamshire and the chairman of the county council bought the first poppies in the county last Friday, October 21.

Colonel Tim Richmond MBE and Cllr Keith Walker attended the county launch at the legion’s charity ball, which took place in Nottingham.

The Royal British Legion is celebrating its 90th anniversary this year.
