Up to £300 is available for towns and villages across the county to host events to commemorate the Great War.
The next round of funding for Nottinghamshire County Council’s Community Commemoration Fund is now underway and groups are encouraged to send in their applications.
The community events already held include a multi-media presentation telling the story of the Great War through song and poetry, a photographic exhibition, trips to the Imperial War Museum and the Cenotaph, an evening of letter readings from the frontline and schools looking at the effect of the War on local people.
Applications are welcomed from historical societies, parish councils, schools, uniformed groups such as cadets, scouts and guides, youth clubs, church groups and art societies.
Closing date for applications is Friday January 9. An application form is available on www.nottinghamshire.gov.uk/trenttotrenches or call 0300 500 8080.
