As the festive season approaches, I’m urging Nottinghamshire readers to have fun whilst raising money for Cancer Research UK.
Research into cancer is serious work, but raising the money to pay for it doesn’t have to be. It just requires a sense of humour and a little bit of your time.
There are many ways to help beat cancer, from organising a Christmas quiz or baking mince pies for a donation at work to holding a carol concert. It’s great fun and Cancer Research UK has a free pack full of ideas to help you.
Last year individual supporters raised £6m for Cancer Research UK, just by fundraising in their spare time. As one in three people in the UK will be touched by cancer at some point in their lives, we need your support now more than ever.
Your contribution, no matter how big or small, could give our life-saving research a significant boost and help more local men, women and children survive cancer.
To request a free fundraising pack please visit www.cancerresearchuk.org or call 08701 60 20 40.
