Hearts go out to young mum’s family

Tributes have been paid to a young woman who was killed in a road traffic collision yesterday.

The woman, who has not yet been named, died following the collision on the A610 between Eastwood and Kimberley on Wednesday, February 3.

It is understood that she was a 21-year-old mother-of-two from the Heanor area.

She is believed to have been riding on the back of a motorcycle when the accident, involving two bikes, took place between the Ikea and B&Q islands.

An air ambulance was called to the scene and a second motorcyclist is also thought to be in critical condition following the incident.

Tributes have poured in on social media.

Ali Grafton, 29, from Addison Villas in Eastwood said: “It’s such a tragedy, RIP to a young woman and my thoughts are with her two children, and family and friends.”

Charlotte Hallam, 37 from Ilkeston said: “Oh so young and so sad, my heart goes out to her family.”

Abigail Hallett said she knew the victim: “She was so, so lovely. My thoughts are with her daughters and family at this tragic time.”

Nottinghamshire Police were still investigating the crash until late on Wednesday.
