Staff at the Ilkeston Co-operative Travel branch celebrated the store’s 40th anniversary with customers last week.
The 17-strong travel team who are based in the Co-operative Department Store on South Street, dressed up in Olympics gear to get in the mood for London 2012.
Together, the dedicated team of travel experts have clocked up over a century of service, with Deborah Cotton working there for 22 years and Natasha Feuz for 21 years.
It’s estimated that the store’s team have booked holidays for more than 50,000 passengers since doors opened.
Branch manager, Sara Hobson, said: “We are all extremely proud of our heritage as the original Ilkeston Co-operative Travel branch and would like to thank our customers for the support they’ve shown us over the years.”
“Thanks to our customers and the extensive travel expertise we’ve provided to the town, we’ve grown to become not just the flagship Ilkeston store, but also one of the largest Co-operative Travel stores in the country.”
