Kids, it’s time to get out the colouring pencils and crayons and create a wonderful Christmas tree – and you could win prizes.
We know there are lots of great young artists out there – entries in our Easter egg and Father’s Day colouring competitions earlier in the year showed that.
This time we want you to colour in the festive Christmas tree printed on the right.
The best ones will win prizes and it’s FREE to enter too.
You can colour in your tree any way you like – you might fancy adding some tinsel and so on to make yours really stand out from the crowd.
It’s up to you how you go about it – and we can’t wait to see the entries!
We will be printing some of them as we go. There are two age categories – nought to eight and nine to 14, with the winner in each one landing a festive prize – just in time for the Christmas holidays.
The closing date for entries is Friday, December 13, at noon. We’ll be be judging the winners soon after and then contacting them to arrange for them to pick up their prizes. We’ll take a picture of them which we hope to feature in our Christmas edition of the paper too.
The rules are simple (printed right).
You need to colour in your tree and then get your parents or a guardian to fill in the form for you. You must include your full name, full addresss and contact phones numbers – or we won’t be able to contact you if you win!
Advertiser editor Martin Hutton said: “ We couldn’t wait to launch this competition as we already know there are some great artists out there.
“And we know you’ll enjoy making your trees festive treats for sure.
“Make sure you give us your full address and contact details so we know who has drawn what, and make sure your parents or a guardian give you permission.
“Good luck and get colouring!”
We are also aiming to produce a special feature in the paper and on our website at www.belpernews.co.uk featuring as many entries as we can, which is sure to be a treat.
You can post your entries to our office, drop them off by hand or drop them off at our community Postbox at the News Corner, King Street, opposite the Market Place, Belper.
