Several updates came out of the Broxtowe Borough Council meeting on Wednesday October 29 which affect the Eastwood and Kimberley areas:
The official launch of the Broxtowe Learning Zone is on November 13 at the Town Hall in Beeston.
This new centre will offer a wide range of information, resources and courses for learning and development, and on the launch day three sessions will be offered at 10am, 11.30am and 2pm for employees and members to view the new site,
Following the launch members will be able to access the learning zone from any computer or smartphone.
In Eastwood, the occupation of the council’s rented units has increased to 95 per cent as the two vacant shops on Mansfield Road have been let to become a beautician and a toy shop,
Finally, a petition has been submitted by Cllr Robb to increase the parking time of on-street parking from 30 minutes to one hour.
This has been passed on to Nottinghamshire County Council as Broxtowe Borough Council only enforces the traffic regulation orders set by the county council.
However, it was discussed that visitors who stay longer do not necessarily spend more money.
