Man jailed after cops find 1,000 cannabis plants at former Brinsley restaurant


A man has been jailed in connection with a cannabis grow found in Brinsley.

Amarildo Spahiu was arrested after police discovered more than 1,000 plants growing inside a former restaurant on Cordy Lane on April 19.

The 26-year-old, of no fixed abode, pleaded guilty to the production of class B drugs at Nottingham Crown Court yesterday (May 18) and was sentenced to eight months imprisonment.
