A PUBLIC meeting has been called to discuss a planning application for a wind turbine in Giltbrook.
Kimberley councillor Richard Robinson has called the meeting on February 3 to discuss plans for the wind turbine at Halls Lane sewage treatment works.
There are no residential properties within 2km of the site, but it will be visible from Eastwood, Kimberley and Awsworth.
The meeting will be held at 7pm at Kimberley’s Hub Café in Newdigate Street.
Cllr Robinson said: “This is a big project and requires considerable thought, as it will be visible for miles, and the pros and cons do need to be weighed up carefully.
“One of the key questions that should be asked is whether the benefit of the development’s renewable energy production outweighs and harm to the visual amenity and greenbelt”.
Cllr Steve Barber, the vice chair of planning at Broxtowe Borough Council, will be at the meeting.
