Two men have appeared in court charged in connection with a burglary in Newthorpe.

David Hewitt, 38, and Simon Hinton, 49, of Newthorpe Common, Newthorpe, appeared at Nottingham magistrates' court on Friday charged with burglary and fraud by false representation.

Police said the charges relate to a report of a burglary in Scargill Avenue, Newthorpe, between 11.30pm on Tuesday and 5.30am on Wednesday.

Mr Hewitt and Mr Hinton were remanded in custody to appear at Nottingham Crown Court on August 17.
