Broxtowe MP Anna Soubry has accused a borough council of potentially ‘jeopardising the future of HS2’.

Ms Soubry has criticised Broxtowe Borough Council for deciding to allow a minimum of 500 homes to be built at Toton Sidings, the region’s proposed HS2 station stop.

She said: “There was concern about the lack of definition regarding the site and 500 being a ‘minimum figure’ as well as the council’s plans for housing jeopardising the potential of HS2.”

But council leader Milan Radulovic said: “We’re trying to provide for people of the future – job opportunities and business opportunities.”
