Nottinghamshire County Council says there could be a surge of interest in people taking up tennis following Andy Murray’s Wimbledon men’s final appearance.
The county council promotes the Lawn Tennis Association’s website All Play which promotes some of the local areas where people can play tennis.
The website lta.org.uk/allplaytennis gives information about some of the clubs in the county which include Farnsfield Lawn Tennis Club, Caunton Lawn Tennis Club, Dukeries Leisure Centre and Southwell Lawn Tennis Club.
The county council’s sports development manager Chris Rollé said: “With the recent British success at Wimbledon, it’s sure to have raised people’s interest in tennis across the county.
“The LTA website All Play is a great way for people to find places to play, people to play with and coaches in your local area.”
The county council also runs two funds which help provide funding for outstanding sports individuals Shining Stars and Rising Stars; and a Community Sports Fund for local clubs and associations.
