Kimberley Town Council is launching a new farmers’ market at Giltbrook Retail Park.
The council wants to make the current market in Toll Bar Square twice monthly, and has chosen behind Frankie and Bennys at the retail park as the place to host it.
The markets will be held on June 22 and July 27 between 10am and 2pm, and if they are successful will continue to run on the fourth Saturday of every month.
Kimberley town councillor Sue Cooper said: “This is a bold initiative which is being undertaken to add a new dimension to the local area.
“The team hope they will become a regular event.”
All the usual stalls will be there selling homemade foods, crafts, fresh meat, bread and cakes, jams and preserves, cheeses and dairy produce, fruit and vegetables, hand made soaps and toiletries, free range eggs and bird food and feeders.
The current market in Toll Bar Square was launched a couple of years ago and is held on the first Saturday of each month. It is very popular with local residents.
