Three new councillors have been elected on to Kimberley Town Council.

The councillors replace three of the five who left earlier this year, saying they disagreed with decisions being made.

Andy Cooper, now both a borough and town councillor, has lived in Kimberley for 30 years, Kirsty John is a governor at Hollywell Primary School and Katarina Boettge is a psychotherapist and also lives locally.

The process to recruit two more councillors is now underway.

The council’s vice chairman Dave Nunn said: “We are now in a very strong position to move forward with three new councillors.”
