The next stage for the ambitious brewery-site redevelopment is to submit an outline application for the ‘Warehouse Yard’, ‘Eastwood Road’ ‘The Brewery’ itself and ‘Nine Corners’.

The Warehouse Yard will be semi-detatched housing, Eastwood Road will be detached housing, The Brewery is set to be a heritage, craft and business centre and Nine Corners will be apartments.

The area, dubbed ‘Brewery Street’ will be looked at last, and will also be a housing development.

A public consultation exhibition was held in Kimberley on August 7 last year where the overall masterplan was unveiled.

It included 164 homes, more than 100 jobs in a range of retail units and the retention of most of the key historical features.

The plan has now been updated with some ammendments, and to include provision for a tram, and a second exhibition is being held today, May 24, at Holy Trinity Church Hall between 2pm and 7.30pm.

Alistair Russell at Metis Developments said: “We want to keep people informed and completely up to date because it’s been a year since the last exhibition.”

“We are looking at making the next application soon.”
