Night club staff in Mansfield tipped off the police after a customer with white powder around his nose started arguing with them, a court heard.

Maxsim Gaidamovic went to a closed bar at the Lexis club, on Leeming Street, at 4am on March 4, where he demanded a drink and became argumentative, said prosecutor Neil Hollet.

Bouncers found a bag of white powder on him, and Gaidamovic later told police he had found it in the street and decided to use it. Analysis showed it was amphetamine.

“He said he was going to eat the substance which gave him a high,” said Mr Hollett.

Gaidamovic, who was unrepresented, said: “I have nothing to add. That is true.”

The 34-year-old, of Newport Crescent, Mansfield, admitted possession of the Class B drug when he appeared at Mansfield Magistrates Court, on Friday.

He was fined £160, and was ordered to pay a £30 government surcharge and £85 costs.
