Nuthall Christmas Lights raised £2000 on their opening night.

The annual event which is on every night from 4pm to 9.30pm until January 2 is run by the Swift family.

Over the last several weeks they family have been working hard with neighbours to prepare for their opening night.

Tony Swift said: “The opening night was amazing. We had about 2000 people come to see the lights.

“The singer Holly Fallon was incredible, she did an extra hour for us, she was frozen when she finished

“We raised over £400 more on our opening night this year. It took lots of hard work from everyone involved and it took us longer to get ready but everything went smoothly”.

The Siddiqui family from Channel 4’s Gogglebox officially switched the lights on with Santa being on hand for photos in his sleigh.
