aN open day is being held at Brinsley Headstocks on September 4.
The Friends of Brinsley Headstocks has organised the third open day at the heritage site, which will coincide with work being done by the British Trust for Conservation Volunteers.
Environmental societies will mount displays, the friends group will be leading guided walks around the site and visitors will be given the chance to try their hand at medieval-style archery.
Since the group formed in 2008 it has worked consistently to restore the former colliery site and mineral railway.
“Everyone is welcome to come along and see what’s happening on their doorstep,” said a group spokesman.
Brinsley pit closed in 1934.
