Bus services return to pre-lockdown levels in Nottinghamshire as schools return
Bus services in Nottinghamshire are returning back to levels before the latest national lockdown from Sunday, March 7, to deal with demand increases as students return to school and college.
trentbarton is returning to the timetables and service frequencies it was running prior to the current national lockdown, enabling customers to adequately social distance on board and protect themselves and their community.
Jeff Counsell, managing director, said: “Boosting our service levels back up will help our customers and our communities begin to return to a more normal life, whether that’s travelling for education, work or, in the near future, for shopping and leisure.
“We would like to say a huge thank you to all our customers for their support and understanding during the past 12 months.
"And I’d like to reassure them that when they do need to catch a bus, they can do so confident that our buses are Covid-secure.
“We will continue our enhanced cleaning regimes overnight and during each day, and ask our customers to continue playing their part by following our advice around travelling safely.
"Thanks too go to our wonderful drivers and our teams that support them.”
Service which are returning include 1A which runs from Aldercar to Ripley, H1 frequency which runs from Derby to Alfreton will increase to every 10 minutes, the connect’s blue route in Hucknall will return to every 15 minutes and the two which goes from Cotmanhay to Nottingham will be back to every 10 minutes.
It is the law that you must wear a face covering when travelling on public transport.
If you do not wear a face covering you will be breaking the law and could be fined. The fine for a first offence is £200, or £100 if you pay the fine within 14 days.
And you should ensure you maintain social distancing, where possible, including at busy entrances, exits, under canopies, bus stops, platforms or outside of stations.
You should stay two metres apart from people you do not live with where possible, or one metre with extra precautions in place.
