Mansfield Magistrates Court.

Nicola Turton, 28, of Poplar Avenue, admitted stealing the iphone 4S on November 11, last year.

Ruth Snodin, prosecuting, told the court the phone was left it on the counter of the Barclays, on Station Street, in Kirkby, and Turton, who was next in the queue, picked it up.

A police appeal showing Turton on CCTV was launched, and Turton told the court she handed it in as soon as she saw the images on Facebook.

She said she had put it in a drawer and forgotten about it.

She told District Judge Jonathan Taaffe that she was talking medication for depression and anxiety.

She was given a 12-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay costs of £85 and a £15 victim surcharge.
