A Nuthall house could be demolished to make way for five new homes if a planning application is approved by the council.
Outline plans have been submitted to demolish a house on Edward Road and replace it with five brand new two-story houses each with five bedrooms and double garages.
The planning application has been submitted by the current owner of the house, Simon Wright, as he is not using the large area of land to the rear of the property.
Ryan Johnson, owner of RJ Architectural Designs which drew up the plans, said that the houses would go towards the number required in the core strategy,
He added: “The garden is such a big plot and as Atkinson Gardens has been built towards the back of the land, the owner saw the opportunity to develop it.
“This is only an outline planning application, so we are just testing the water a bit.”
The outline planning application which was submitted on December 22 is currently being considered by Broxtowe Borough Council’s planning committee who should make a decision towards the end of the month.
If they approve the plans, Mr Wright and his architects could submit a full planning application to the council.
The current plans propose that each of the houses would be detached with its own garden and new access would be created from Edward Road.
There would also be twenty parking spaces for the owners of the houses.
