The MP for Ashfield and Eastwood, Gloria De Piero has praised police officers in the aftermath of a burglary at her Eastwood home.
The Labour politician called police last week when she arrived home to find a door had been forced open. She said: “We saw the smashed glass and the alarm started going off again and realised we had been burgled.
“They took the television and computer. The burglar alarm went off so they didn’t go upstairs they just grabbed what they could.
She added: “The police were round within ten minutes, they were really great.”
Last Friday Gloria tweeted about the break-in and thanked the officers publicly, stating: “A big thumbs up to police constable Damon Shaw and special constable Cristell Revill.”
Gloria has now increased security at her home which she shares with her husband, through the erection of a fence.
No arrests have been made.
