SOLDIERS who died fighting for our country will be remembered this weekend in Eastwood and Kimberley.
Eastwood town councillors will be at the memorial cottages today, Friday, November 11 at 11am, and on Sunday there will be a 9.30am service at St Mary’s Church before a parade up to the Cenotaph at the top of Plumptre Way where there will be a two minute silence and service.
Refreshments will be available at the Assemblies of God Church and MP Gloria De Piero will be in town.
The Archdeacon of Nottingham, Peter Hill, will remember the war dead with townsfolk in Kimberley on Sunday.
A service will be held at Holy Trinity Church in Eastwood Road, at 10am.
Following that there will be a parade up to the war memorial in Greens Lane where there will be a short service and a two minute silence.
