RESIDENTS at Hartwell Court in Eastwood raised over £70 for the town’s British Legion after holding a coffee morning.
People who live at the retirement apartments on the corner of Church Street chose the legion as their charity for the year and plan to donate all money made at events such as open days and coffee mornings.
Eastwood Poppy Appeal organiser Maria Kirk said she was ‘delighted’ when she got the phone call from complex manager Jan Greenwood to say the legion was the chosen charity.
“It will all help. It all mounts up,” she said.
The British Legion celebrates its 90th anniversary this year.
