Rolling road block for school arts festival parade

A ROLLING road block will be in place during the carnival parade for Eastwood Arts Festival next Friday.

The Family of Schools parade will be followed by children from schools from across the town.

It begins at Brookhill Leys School in Chewton Street at 1pm.

The parade continues through Eastwood, along Nottingham Road and Mansfield Road, ending at Eastwood Comprehensive School’s playing field at about 2pm.

Organisers have asked Eastwood townsfolk to come out and support the parade by watching the procession along the route.

Nottinghamshire Police will put in place a rolling road block along Nottingham Road and Mansfield Road while the parade takes place.

These measures will be in place from 1pm to 2pm.

A spokesman for the force said: “We apologise for any inconvenience. “
