Youngsters at Jacksdale Primary School took part in an African dance workshop this week.
Teachers arranged the workshop so pupils could learn more about the wider world and different cultures.
Every class had half an hour learning the ‘rain dance’ and the ‘bambaya dance’.
Year four and five teacher Davina Kerr said: “The children need an understanding of the wider world so it was something that would help them learn about different ethnicities and backgrounds.
“It’s the first time we’ve done anything quite like this and they absolutely loved it. Archie Dobbin described it as ‘mint’!”
The pupils have also learned about different religions.
