Schoolkids to run equivalent of a marathon for charity

School children in Kimberley are set to run the equivalent distance of a marathon to raise money for a local charity.

Twenty-six groups of pupils at Gilthill Primary School will run a mile each, equaling a marathon in total, on Friday, July 19.

The effort will raise money for the Ryan Lee Trust – a charity set up in the name of a local teenager who died of a brain tumour. The trust raises money for specialist equipment for terminally ill children.

The event has been organised to mark what would have been Ryan’s last year at secondary school.
