Scouts trace origins of their movement

Generous funding by Nottinghamshire County Councillor Philip Owen, from his Divisional Fund, enabled six members of the 1st Nuthall Scout Group and its leader to visit Brownsea Island in Dorset, where Lord Baden Powell first started the youth movement in 1908. Rahil Lakhman, Max Roulstone, Alex Zowonu, Tom Wilson, Max Rapley and Freddie Tenant made the most of the scouting expedition, which Coun Owen gave £525 towards.
