Selston councillor steps up campaign

A Selston councillor has organised a meeting with the Highways Authority to see what can be done about a pathway outside a school that has been branded unsafe.

Gail Turner will meet with highways officials to see what can be done about the narrow pavement outside Westwood Infant and Nursery School.

She has also arranged a meeting with parents to discuss the matter.

Parents at the school have wanted the pavement widened for more than 20 years, and have recently relaunched their campaign after seeing council money being spent elsewhere.

Carol King told the Advertiser last week the pavement got congested and children were at risk of being run over.
