Following months of rehearsals, members of the Awsworth’s Team Revolution School of Dance are about to showcase the talents of more than 20 performers with an all dancing take on a classic West End musical.
Eastwood School Theatre is the venue for the dance school’s first ever production which is being masterminded by principal Nichola Buckley and is entitled Catz.
All the proceeds from the show’s two performances go to the Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital, and Team Revolution is determined to make its first ever charity production a big success.
“We are all very excited about the prospect of putting on our first ever show and the incentive of doing something positive to help such a wonderful cause spurs us on all the more,” said Nichola
Since its inception in 2011 Team Revolution has blazed a trail winning scores of trophies in prestigious competitions at venues all around the country.
Among the cast of Catz will be the dance school’s rising stars these include Chloe Patton, Olivia Hewes, Mia Gidlow, Georgia Smith, Sophie Franks, Brook Dennis, Amari Gilbert Hodelin, Keeley Franks, and Leia Bradley, among others.
These are exciting times for Team Revolution with its new Theatre Arts initiative beginning in January 2014.
“We have a great set of young people in our ranks and the standards of behaviour and performance both on the road, during lessons and at public events has been commendable, said Sue Smith.
“The production of Catz will give everyone involved an opportunity to shine and to show that Team Revolution has the credentials to further achieve at a higher level in the future,” she added.
Catz is being performed on Friday December 6 at 7pm and again on Saturday December 7 at the earlier time of 2pm.
