More than a hundred people put on their scariest costumes for a free Halloween party hosted by Kimberley Town Council last week.
Ghosts and ghouls, witches and wizards and other spooky beings entered into the spirit of the occasion to make the party a fantastic success.
Children and their parents came in colourful costumes, scary masks, dyed hair, and imaginative make-up for the spooky family event.
Co-ordinated by Kimberley town councillor Karen Tennant and backed by her colleagues, the Halloween knees-up included music from local DJ Andy Tibbits, anappealing array of food, a variety of games and challenges. and energetic disco dancing.
Denise Jones had also decorated the hall with pumpkins, skeletons, bats, and lanterns to create a terrifying atmosphere.
A fancy dress competition proved hard to judge but Billy Brittan and Megan Barrett made a big impression on the judges and so were awarded the prizes.
Grandma Rose Broker whose grandchildren were at the party said: “It has been great fun and the children have had a ball.
“A great deal of time and effort has gone in to make the event a success.”
Organiser Karen Tennant said that the success of the party was down to teamwork and forward planning.
The next big community event held by Kimberley Town Council will be a Children’s Christmas Party which will take place on December 20.
