Top sporting volunteers in the county have been rewarded tickets to the Olympic Games.

Sport Makers is a national campaign backed by Olympic legend Sir Steve Redgrave to encourage people to devote free time to sport.

Locally, the scheme aims to inspire 1,000 people in Nottinghamshire to get involved and commit to spending at least ten hours organising or leading sporting activities.

Following the launch of the campaign, Sport Makers were eligible for the Sport Makers ticket share draw – with around 20 people in Nottinghamshire winning tickets to London 2012.

More than 450 people have already been recognised as Sport Makers in the county this year, with the initiative being led by Nottinghamshire County Council with a number of partner agencies.
